Another Self-Reliance Community

Granja Porcon began, thirty-eight years ago, when a man named Pedro petitioned the Peruvian government for a tract of land where he and some families could form an agricultural cooperative. He promised the government officials that they would be self-sustaining and would never ask for welfare from the government. The officials agreed and Pedro and his group moved onto the tract of land.
